access your router from the web

You can change the firewall settings from the Settings tab in your router's admin panel.
- Change the port numbers for incoming connections, outgoing connections, and for port forwarding (to allow you to access particular ports on another device).

You should also change your WAN security type so that it allows only LAN traffic; if you don't do this, anyone with malicious intent can connect directly through their own connection rather than needing to go through your router first.

You can enable remote administration on the following devices:
- Macs running OS X 10.8 or later
- PCs running Windows 7 or later (you'll need to be in a network with those computers)
If you want to access the admin panel, follow these steps:
- Go to http://192.168.1.1/ in your web browser and log in with any credentials that were created during setup. If this is the first time connecting a device to your Wi-Fi network, then it will ask you for one or more passwords so that you may connect without having previously been added as an administrator in this group.
- Once logged in, click on "Network & Sharing Center" from within Control Center on both Macs and PCs—or select Start > Control Panel > Network and Internet > Network Connections from Windows 7; System Preferences > Network Settings from OS X Lion 10+. The "Network & Sharing Center" window should open automatically once opened via any method described above; if not then look for its icon at left edge of screen near title bar (it looks like three overlapping circles). From there simply click on "Set Up A New Network".
